April 5, 2014 W.T. Woodson High School Crew Head Coach's Recap Walter Mess Regatta It was a windy day which forced an early ending to the days racing, but Woodson's crews had a successful day nonetheless. The Women's First Four started the day finishing 3rd in their heat and advancing to their early afternoon final. The Men's Novice Four made their debut finishing 3rd in their flight with a time of 9:03.35. The Women's First Four then took to the water for their final finishing 4th with a time of 8:01.75. In the afternoon the eights hit the water. The Men's Second Eight finished 1st in their heat with a time of 6:07.20. The Women's First Eight finished 2nd in their heat with a time of 6:58.03, and the Men's First Eight finished 2nd with a time of 5:44.16. All would have advanced to finals had afternoon racing not been cancelled. We will need to wait another week for the debuts of the Women's Novice Eight, Men's Third Eight, and a second showing of the Men's Novice Eight.
