Charlie Butt Regatta

  • WTW Crew competed this past Saturday in the prestigious Charlie Butt Regatta on the Potomac River.  From the Georgetown Waterfront Park with the Kennedy Center and the Key Bridge as a backdrop, it was a great venue and a beautiful day for rowing.  The results were as follows: 

    Men's Jr 4+: 3rd in Heat 5:50.2

    Women's 1 V 4+: 2nd in Heat 5:45.2 qualifying for finals, and 2nd in finals 5:53.3.

    Women's Freshmen 8+:  2nd in Heat 5:33.2 

    Men's Freshmen 8+: 1st in Heat 5:11.2 (c: Jonathan Kovacev, Joe Korn, Jack Ning, Larry Cai, Jack Jabaley, Adrian Michel, Kevin Kronenberger, John Dorbredney, Trevor von Christierson)

    Men's 2nd 8+: 2nd in Heat 4:49.6 qualifiifying for finals

    Boys 1V 8+: 2nd in Heat 4:31.3 in an extremely close race and qualifying for finals

    Girls Jr 8+: 1st in Final: 5:15.2 (c: Madeline Henris, Abigail Kolls, Rita Bodrog, Hannah Fisher, Hannah Haines, Courtney Becker, Sloane Palmer, Coryn Mayer, Sierra Cole)

    Boys 3rd 8+: 1st in Final (c: Jared Keen, James MaGee, Nate Aanestad, Jake Aytes, Fin Merrill, Sam Garretson, Brian Yoon, Nathan Oh, Sean Morrow)

    All remaining afternoon events were canceled due to wind before the Men's 1V, 2V and Freshmen Eights could compete in their respective finals.
  • Please join WTW Crew this Saturday at Sandy Run Regional Park on the Occoquan, as our freshman and novice boats compete in their Virginia State Championships at the Ted Phoenix Regatta.  Pull for Woodson!
