Crew has prepaid for our team, athletes and families, to use this
shuttle service from Silver Brook Elementary. 8 schools have formed a
co-op to provide an alternative to the fees and limited parking at Sandy
Run. This is not provided by VASRA. The shuttle is an FCPS yellow
Bus.
- Parking is free at Silver Brook and there is no per-ride fee to use this shuttle.
- The shuttle
departs Silver Brook Elementary School, 9350 Crosspointe Drive, Fairfax
Station, Virginia, 22039, Click here for Mapquest to Silver Brook
- Shuttle starts at 6:50am
- There are two buses,
making the loop at at 15-20 minute intervals, on the four quarters of the
hour. Between 11:30 and 1:30 the buses will run on a 30 minute interval
instead of a 15 minute interval.
- Depending on traffic volume it takes 15 - 30 minutes to make the trip between Silver Brook and Sandy Run.
- The last bus will
leave Sandy Run an hour after the last race is run.
- The Sandy Run pick up/drop off is in the top lot where the Grandstand trail head is located
- The shuttle is a FCPS yellow bus. It is different than the shuttles between parking lots provided by VASRA.
- Last
time the line formed closer to the woods, not at the entrance to the
parking lot, there was a small sign - Silver Brook Shuttle. This is our
first year participating but it has been running for 5 years, ask
someone waiting in line if you have a question, most veteran shuttle
users are very helpful.
