1. NEW: Winter Conditioning Schedule. Winter conditioning resumes for those in town this week Wednesday through Friday (January 2, 3, and 4) during the regularly scheduled times. Full winter conditioning schedule resumes next week.

2. NEW: Spirit Wear Update. Thank you to all the families that picked-up their Spirit Wear before the holidays. If you were not able to pick-up before the holidays and would like to arrange to pick-up your merchandise, please email Babette Korn at babskorn@gmail.com AFTER January 2nd. Babette will attempt to distribute the remaining Spirit Wear at practice on January 9th. If you missed ordering this time, there will be another opportunity later this winter.

3. NEW: Membership. Membership is still open to new recruits. If you have not registered or know someone who is interested, more information can be found here.

4. NEW: Swim Tests. The final swim tests of the season are on Saturday and Sunday, January 12th & 13th from 2-3pm at the Audrey Moore Pool, 8100 Braddock Road, Annandale. The swim test is required for new rowers/coxswains. Sign-up here, including one parent volunteer.

5. NEW: January Board Meeting. Due to the winter break, the January meeting of the Woodson Crew Boosters board of directors has been moved to Wednesday, January 9th at 7:00 pm in Room C-123. The regular schedule, first Wednesday of each month, will resume on February 6th. All parents are welcomed to attend the monthly meeting of the board of directors.

6. REMINDER: Practice Bus Registration. Transportation to practice is the responsibility of the student-athlete’s family, however the W.T. Woodson Crew Boosters assist in this endeavor by contracting a commercial bus as an alternative. The fee for bus transportation between W.T. Woodson High School and Sandy Run Regional Park is in addition to regular dues. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis. Order of registration is based on date of payment. Registrations are secured by the payment in full, due no later than January 19, 2019.

The practice bus fee per crew member is $500 for the 2018-2019 season. Please make your check for $500 payable to WTW Crew Boosters and mail it (or drop off) to the WTW Crew Booster Vice President by the January 19th deadline. Payment by PayPal is also an option for the 2018-2019 season. Please go to the following link (Practice Bus Information) and select “Add to Cart” at the top of the page and follow the PayPal instructions if this is your preferred payment method.

For those paying by PayPal, the Bus Transportation Agreement can be scanned and sent via email to wtwcrewactivities@gmail.com. Please use subject line BUS PAYMENT COMPLETE for (Athlete first and last name).

Every rider’s parents/guardians must sign-up to chaperone ONE day per each athlete. Sign Up for ONE slot per athlete BEFORE February 19; and please fill the days prior to Spring Break before signing up for any of the slots after Spring Break. After initial sign ups we will reach out to parents to fill-in as needed. Sign-up here for Practice Bus Chaperone volunteer slots. 7. REMINDER: U.S. Naval Academy Field Trip. Back by popular demand, we have an optional field trip to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, February 9th. We will be able to use both their rowing machines and the “Great Eight” sixteen seat-rowing tank.

Registration for this event must be done on Sign-up Genius no later than Thursday, January 31, 2019.

The cost is $30 per rower, cash or checks made out to WT Woodson Crew Boosters can be brought to practice or payment is also available via PAYPAL here. Payments must be made no later than Monday, February 4th.

Uniform will be uni suits with team gear. If you are a new rower, unis and available team gear will be provided. If unis do not arrive, alternate uniform will be proscribed.
