Congratulations to the Women’s Varsity 8+...they are going to Nationals!

Here is a link to the VSRC Day 2 row2k photos. Also, this article is mainly about the VSRC Day 2 winners, but Woodson does get mentioned.

Next stop, Stotesbury! The Stotesbury Regatta trip is 18-20 May in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Our WTW Crew Webmaster has created a Stotesbury page (including time trial start times for Friday) on our web site.
    • This page has all things Stotesbury (links to event start times and results, hotel and contact info, weather, etc.), and will be updated as necessary throughout the event
  • REMINDER: Luggage Check-In is tonight, Wednesday, 17 May from 6:45-8pm at WT Woodson High School door #5, near the wrestling room. Practice will end early today and student-athletes must check in their own bag at the luggage drop off. Medication forms will also be checked and returned to the student-athletes to carry with them. Luggage will be stored in a locked room at school overnight and loaded prior to departure.
  • On Thursday, 18 May, student-athletes should plan to leave class at 10:15am and be ready to load, with their luggage, at the rock at 10:30am. Buses depart at 11:00am. Bring a bagged lunch to eat on the bus.
  • Parent volunteers are still needed for this away regatta (even if you are not going to Stotesbury). Please sign-up here to volunteer.
  • If you are a parent chaperone taking the bus to Stotesbury and will be leaving your car at the school, you should park by door #17 near Main Street while away for the Stotesbury and National Regattas.
UPDATED: The 2017 SRAA National Championship Regatta trip is 25-27 May on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ. The Boats going to Nationals are the Men’s 1st 8+, Women’s 1st 8+, Women’s Lightweight 8+, and Men’s 2nd 8+. All race entries, to include alternate rowers/coxswains will be made at the discretion of the WTW Crew Head Coach. Payment (for student-athlete and any parent/family at-the-river food fees mentioned below) along with all required paperwork is due by this Friday, 19 May for all athletes going to Nationals. Please deliver the forms not previously filled out for Stotesbury and check to Catherine Foley, 9124 Glenbrook Rd., Fairfax, VA 22031.
  • Here is the Nationals Information Sheet (which gives you all the details you need to know)
    • Many of the same forms for Stotesbury will be required for Nationals participants and if you have completed the Stotesbury paperwork, you will not be required to submit new paperwork except the Emergency Contact Form (if you did not fill out the Nationals portion previously) and the meal form.
      • Parent and other family meal costs will be only for meals at the river since the hotel doesn't offer catering. There is a $15/day per person (non-student-athletes) fee which covers at-the-river snacks and lunches on Friday and Saturday. We eat under the Woodson canopy on site from about 8am until about 2pm. For dinner, parents can purchase food at Uno Pizzeria (next to hotel) and are welcome to eat with the athletes.
  • New Nationals Specific Form:
  • Here are the forms (in case you haven’t filled any out):
  • NEW: Student-athletes attending Nationals need to make sure they make arrangements with teachers for any SOL testing they may miss.
  • If you will be cancelling your hotel reservations, please email wtwcrewcommunications@gmail.com before cancelling so we can offer the rooms to other WTW families who may not have rooms yet.
  • Parent volunteers are needed for this away regatta (even if you are not going to Nationals). Please sign-up here to volunteer.
  • On Wednesday, 24 May, luggage will be turned-in, medication forms and medications reviewed from 7:30-8:30pm at WT Woodson High School door #5, near the wrestling room. Student-athletes must check in their own bag at the luggage drop off. Luggage will be stored in a locked room at school overnight and loaded prior to departure. Student-athletes will be responsible for packing medication forms and medications in their carry on luggage.
