1. NEW: Even though we didn’t have the Polar Bear Regatta, it was a great first “pre-regatta” dinner on Friday. Thank you to the McCarthy family for hosting, to our volunteers for keeping the evening running smoothly, and to our student-athletes who were all very well behaved and enjoyed the night bonding as a team. We also thank everyone for bringing their food assignments. There will be no food assignments or pre-regatta dinner this week as we get ready for our first away regatta on Saturday.

As a reminder, we send out urgent updates (such as schedule changes) via Slack before sending via email, tweet, or our website. If you are not on our Slack channels, please contact wtwcrewcommunications@gmail.com to be added. Also let us know if you are signed up for Slack, but need help getting push notifications.

2. UPDATE: St. Andrew’s Regatta is this Saturday, March 30th. As mentioned above, there is no pre-regatta dinner on Friday. This link has all the information you need to prepare for the trip, what to bring, address, schedule for the day, and contact information. Here is a link to the school as well which has a good video and pictures for those interested.

The buses will depart Woodson HS at 7:30am on Saturday. All students should be at Woodson HS by 7:15am. If a student will be bringing medication, please ensure they come with a signed Student Medication Form and meds in a plastic bag marked with their name.

We are still looking for food tent volunteers at St. Andrew’s. Please sign-up here to volunteer. We have noted that many parents noted on the St. Andrew’s Emergency Forms that they will be attending the regatta. We are trying to get an accurate head count for food and ask that you please sign-up here if parent(s) are attending (volunteering or not) this Saturday, March 30th

For family members driving to the regatta, here is the address for where our team will be located: 556 Noxontown Rd, Townsend, DE 19734. We recommend that parents attending bring chairs and possibly blankets to better enjoy the regatta. We also recommend wearing layers as the weather can quickly change (and has in previous years). The area we watch the regatta from and where we set up the food tent has been muddy in previous years as well.

3. NEW: We are still looking for a Pre-Regatta Dinner Host for April 5th Dinner. Sign-up here if you are available to host. For planning purposes, we have about 90 athletes on the team and most of them do attend the dinners. Host homes provide the disposable paper products (strong plates, forks, knives, etc.. no cups needed), serving utensils, and trash receptacles (1 per room recommended). Chaperones help with set-up, clean-up, and oversight. This is a working event for the volunteers. Credit: Host homes - 2 volunteer credits.

4. NEW: Parent Learn-to-Row: Sunday, April 7th 9-11am. Get a first hand look (and feel) of what rowing is all about at this special event. You will gain a new appreciation for how hard your rower works, and how easy they make it look. You will be coxed by our own coxswains and coached by our phenomenal coaching staff. Boats will go out in rain or shine. Space is limited. Please sign up here. After you are done with the learn-to-row, stay for the boat christening ceremony. (mentioned below)

5. NEW: Boat Christening Ceremony, April 7th. All are welcome to join us for the boat christening ceremony at the boathouse at 11:30am. After a short presentation, light refreshments will be served.

6. NEW: Make-Up Tag Days. You may have received an email if your student did not complete the required number of Tag Days expected of each athlete. Tag Days are the team's largest fundraiser each year, and the only volunteer commitment in which we require all athletes participate. We understand that students have joined the team late, or that other commitments may have made it challenging to attend our scheduled tag day shifts. Therefore, we offer as an alternative an individual “Save a Tag Day” option. If you have any questions about this option, please contact our fundraising chair, Gina Clune at wtwcrewfundraising@gmail.com for assistance.

7. REMINDER: Spirit Wear: Spirit Wear has arrived! Most orders were distributed at the Pasta Dinner on Friday night. If your student-athlete was unable to attend, Team Captain, Marie Korn, will bring them to practice this week.
