1. THANK YOU: Thank you to everyone who helped make our #GivingTuesday a success and who joined us for our restaurant fundraiser Tuesday at Noodles & Co. While our athletes and coaches work hard to deliver a great season on the water, the WTW Crew Boosters and our families are responsible for setting dues and raising funds to make that possible. We’re so grateful for the families, alumni and extended community that make this team successful. If you or someone you know is looking to do some end-of-year giving to a nonprofit organization like the Woodson Crew Boosters, please share our campaign with them

2. REMINDER: Team registration still open. Complete the first five steps of registration to join the team in Winter Conditioning at Woodson. Rowers must complete the full registration process no later than February 20th to participate in on-the-water activities. Everything you need to know about registration and the Crew season — including exactly what forms need to be filled and where to deliver them as well as all the deadlines — are outlined on our website. The early-bird rates are gone but you can still register for the team.

If you have questions about this process, please contact the W.T. Woodson Crew Membership team at wtwcrewmembership@gmail.com.

3. REMINDER: Practice bus signup is open, but very few seats remain. The Woodson Crew Boosters Association coordinates bus transportation between W.T. Woodson High School and Sandy Run Regional Park for on-the-water practices beginning in February. The fee for the bus is on top of regular dues. Only eight seats remain on the practice bus so register now and complete your payment via Paypal and send signed Bus Transportation Agreement no later than January 21, 2020. The fee per crew member is $530 for the 2020 season. Act fast!

4. REMINDER: Holiday Fundraising Letters: Reminder that this week, our athletes will take a few minutes before Winter Conditioning to send some letters to friends and family about Crew. The boys will set up in the cafeteria on Monday December 9 and the girls will do so on Tuesday December 10. Please arrive at 4:30 pm and bring contact information (street address and zip code, or email) for a handful of friends or family members who may be interested in supporting your team — as well as any spare stationery, cards, or envelopes. Students will spend 20 minutes writing quick personal notes before the kids begin their workout. This is our last big fundraising push before we get on the water in February. Please direct any questions to Kim Sandino at wtwcrewfundraising@gmail.com or 703-862-4158. Thank you!

5. NEW: Winter Break Winter Conditioning: Coaches will host winter conditioning over the holiday break in the usual location from 9 to 11 AM on the following dates: December 23 and 24, January 2 and 3.

6. NEW: Amazon Smile: You can support the crew team when you do your holiday shopping this year by using Amazon Smile. If you haven’t already designated Crew as the charity you support when you shop through Amazon Smile, head over here and click “Yes, change my charity.” Then be sure to use smile.amazon.com to do all your holiday shopping. Thanks!

7. REMINDER: 35th Annual Erg Sprints at T.C. Williams. Registration is open for one of the largest indoor rowing competitions for 18 and under rowers in the country, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at T.C. Williams High School. Look for 2,000 meter events as well as 20 and 30-minute, half marathon, marathon, relays, 500 meter sprints, double and quad slide, parent/child, and kids events. Athletes do not have to qualify to enter and all ages and levels of experience are welcome. Early registration closes December 31st. Get more information and register at www.ErgSprints.com

8. REMINDER: Spirit Wear Orders. Thank you for your spirit wear orders. Items will arrive mid-December, and we will announce the pickup dates in a future edition of this email and on the parent Slack channel. Uniforms ordered last year can be picked up at this time as well. Look for more information on uniforms for the 2019-20 season later this month.
