NEW: Student-athletes normally dress-up on Fridays before regattas as publicity for crew at the school, but since this is WTW Spirit Week and Friday is an early release day, student-athletes are not required to dress-up this Friday. Rowers, plan on attending the pre-regatta dinner this week (requires authentication *). Please see the link for the food assignments (requires authentication *) this week (Pre-Regatta Dinner and Walter Mess Regatta). Food/Drink Assignments are 1 per/athlete (not per/family) and change weekly. We ask that all teammates participate and that items are brought as requested. Thank-you for your help. NEW: In the chaos of the rain last Friday, there are several students who did not pay their $5 for pizza at the boathouse. If you or your student has not paid the $5, please have your student bring the $5 to the WTW RAFT tent at the regatta on Saturday. NEW: The Walter Mess Regatta schedule this Saturday has been adjusted and the start time is now 30 minutes earlier than originally planned. Heat sheets will be available on our WTW Crew website. We will have extra copies of the heat sheets at the RAFT tent. The coaches will notify the students what time they should arrive at the boathouse. VASRA is expecting 1670 rowers so expect the parking lots to fill early. We recommend parking at Silverbrook Elementary School and taking the Silverbrook shuttle (see the home regatta page for further shuttle information). The first race will begin at 8:30am. The coxswains meeting (only one for the day) will be at 7:00am and weigh-ins (only one for the day) for lightweights will be between 6:30- 8:30am. NEW: Due to the early start, those that are signed up for the VASRA jobs which start at 7:00 or 7:30am this Saturday, should arrive early to begin your shift 30 minutes early. If you are signed up for the Helper job which starts at 5:30am, you do not need to start your shift earlier than that. For all shifts, you should arrive for check in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow time to sign in and get directions/guidance. A few Regatta Athlete Food Tent (RAFT) volunteer opportunities for this weekend’s regatta are still available. Please sign-up here for this weekend’s RAFT volunteer opportunities.
