REMINDER: There is no crew bus today (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday), but we do have practice. The boys first and second 8s are starting practice a little early on Friday at 3:30pm. All others will practice at the normal time. Practice will likely end around 5:30pm to allow time to get to the pre-regatta dinner.

Get ready to Pull for Woodson….the first regatta of the season, the Polar Bear Regatta, is this Saturday. The coaches have or will give the students guidance on what time to arrive. Varsity students should wear their unis and bring their tech shirts along with whatever else they need for the day. Only varsity boats will be rowing, but all team members are expected to attend the pre-regatta pasta party (requires authentication*) on Friday night (7:00-9:00pm) and the regatta on Saturday to help and cheer on their teammates.

Please see this link for the food assignments (requires authentication*) this week. Food/Drink assignments are per athlete (not per family) and change weekly. We ask that all rowers participate and that items are brought to the pre-regatta dinner or regatta as requested. Thank-you for your help.

URGENT: We need a volunteer for Driver set-up on Saturday to fill a required VASRA volunteer slot assigned to our team. This position requires launch driver training. If you are able to help, please sign-up at VASRA Regatta Volunteer Sign-Up. We encourage everyone to add a cell number on Sign-Up Genius so we can call AND text with any changes to any of the volunteer positions.

URGENT: We still need two more volunteer to help with the Regatta Athlete Food Tent (RAFT) at the regatta this Saturday, 25 March. Please sign-up here for the RAFT volunteer opportunities. (UPDATE: all slots now filled. Thanks!)

You can follow VASRA on Twitter @VASRAResults to get the latest on regatta and workday schedules and @VASRAParking for regatta parking updates. You can also follow Sandy Run Regional Park on Twitter at @SandyRunReg. Regatta Central has a page with Sandy Run Regatta Day FAQs. On that site, you can also see the heat times (click on heat sheet/draw tab) once populated. There is limited parking at Sandy Run and the fee is $15 per car. WTW Crew families are encouraged to park at Silverbrook Elementary School (9350 Crosspointe Dr, Fairfax Station) and use the free shuttle bus that runs between there and the river.

NEW: We have arranged to reopen the JL racing store for a short time. If you missed your placing your order for a splash jacket, this is the time to order. The site is currently open and will close at midnight on 3 April. You can also order an extra uni or tech shirt. The estimated ship date is 10 May with estimated delivery on 17 May. This will be your last chance to order for this season. The JL site may not be open again until January 2018. Please pay special attention when inputting payment information at checkout. If the transaction does not lead you to a confirmation screen, the order did not go through and please double check the information that you entered. Scroll down the middle of the page and select the Woodson team store.

We are still awaiting arrival of previous orders. If there are questions, email the uniform/spirit wear coordinator, Tu’lann von Christierson, at tulannvonc@cox.net, (703) 426-2595.
