1. GREEN DAYS BEGAN TODAY! You can still sign up!
  • Green Day Carpooling: If you are interested in carpooling please send name and contact information to Mary Moore, WTW Communications at wtwcrewcommunications@gmail.com.
  • An e-mail will be sent out connecting interested families.
Please include specifics: 
  • DRIVERS: number of rowers you can take, which days, and if you can transport from school to water, and back to school.
  • RIDERS: Please indicate if you need transport to river only, or both to river and back to school.
  • Two Sessions of Green Days:
  • Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays, Sept 26-Oct 8 AND Oct 10-22  
    • Sign up here!
    • Parent Volunteers Still Needed for Green Days: Two-hour parent volunteer slots are still available for Green Days practices. Counts towards $50 service credit! Come join us at the river to help with student check-in, see the boathouse, and watch our coaches and rowers in action! It’s a terrific way to see what crew is all about!

2. Restaurant Fundraisers:
  • Potbelly Sandwich Shop: Wednesday, September 28, 4-7pm:
    • The Woodson Crew Team will be hosting a fundraiser at Potbelly Sandwich Shop (across the street from WTW). Please come out and support the Crew Team while enjoying some delicious Potbelly sandwiches with friends and family. Please show the attached flyer View Download (or a picture of it on your phone) and mention Woodson Crew when you check out and 50% of purchases made during that time period will be donated to the team. Thanks for your support! 
  • SAVE THE DATE! Parent Social & Fundraiser: Thursday, October 20th, 6:30-9:30 pm: 
    • Crew Parent Social and Fundraiser at Auld Shebeen in downtown Fairfax. Get to know other crew parents and enjoy live music from local band "The Drive". Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. 100% of cover charge will be donated to Woodson Crew. Contact Joan Fisher at joanmkf@aol.com for tickets. Spread the word to neighbors and friends (don't have to be related to Woodson crew) -- will be a fun night for all! Flyer attached: View Download 
3. IMPORTANT EVENT – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
  • Booster Concession Stand Coverage: Friday, October 14, 6:15-7:45 pm OR 7:45-9:30 pm 
    • Start fulfilling your parent volunteer requirements now – Enjoy the Regattas in the spring! 
  • Volunteers are needed to man the Booster Concession Stand at the October 14th Football game. 
    • As part of the WTW Booster Club and getting support for the team, our Crew Team is required to man a concession stand once during a Fall football game. 
    • Use your Booster Club Game Pass to get in OR enter through the gate at the Frost end of the WTW Football field, and tell ticket sales you are working at the concession stand. You’ll get in free of charge… And it’s FUN! 
      1. You’ll receive a $50 credit towards your volunteer requirement for each shift worked. 
      2. WTW Boosters Club has given us money in the past to purchase Ergs and other equipment. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship we need to maintain! 
4. SCRIP orders due the 15th of every month: next order is 15 October.

5. Calling All ERG’s & Volunteers Needed: Woodson Crew Shed – Saturday, 29 Oct, 9-11am
  • Please return the ERG you rented. Bring them to the Woodson Crew Shed. 
  • Students and Parents’ help needed: 
    • Receive rented ERG’s and help prepare them for winter conditioning. Please bring any small tools you have to help with repairs. 
    • Help setup the Crew’s tents to make sure they are in good working order.
