1. Thank you to those who braved the cold to volunteer at the Boathouse Workday on Saturday!

2. REMINDER: The early bird registration discount ends today. After you register on Ronin Racing, please hand deliver your check along with your Emergency Care Form and Drivers’ Forms to Jean Boyle at 8623 Hepplewhite Ct. Annandale, VA 22003 by 9:00 tonight to take advantage of this opportunity to save money. There are ONLY 4 days left to register if you are going to participate in winter conditioning. You will not be allowed to participate in winter conditioning if you have not completed steps 1-5 listed below.

For rowers participating in Winter Conditioning, the Emergency Care Form and Field Trip License and Vehicle Insurance Forms, along with initial payments made by check, need to be mailed or hand delivered by November 16, 2017 to:

WTW Crew Membership, c/o 8623 Hepplewhite Ct. Annandale, VA 22003

1. Online Registration - Ronin Registration

2. VHSL Physical Form - Your physical must be dated May 1, 2017 or later and needs to be on the correct form (Revised February 2017). Submit completed physicals directly to the Athletic Trainer, Ms. Fickes, in Room C158. Please make a copy of your physical before submitting it. It may take up to 5 business days for the Athletic Trainer to review your physical and reflect its clearance on the compliance report.

3. Online Concussion Training - Bottom Line - Virtually no student has been able to do the concussion training at home. Most rowers have been successful using the computers at school to complete this. USE the school computers to do this ASAP! There are two different training programs, one for parents and one for student-athletes. Both the student-athlete and one parent must complete their respective training. Allow at least 5 business days for training to be reflected on the athletic trainer’s compliance report. Please use Firefox or Safari to complete the program. Once the parent and the rower have completed the training, please notify membership at wtwcrewmembership@gmail.com.

4. Student Emergency Care Form - An ECF needs to be completed every year. Please complete this form online before printing. Illegible forms will not be accepted. (New rowers – If you submitted a typed copy of this form during Green Days, you do not need to submit another one at this time.)

5. Field Trip Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance Information Forms -
    • Student Form - Use this form if your rower has a driver’s license and plans to drive to practice and/or local regattas.
    • Parent Form - Parents/guardians living locally need to complete this form.
3. NEW: Potbelly Fundraiser Tomorrow. Please join us for our next restaurant fundraiser at the Fair City Mall Potbelly (9668 Main Street, Fairfax, VA - across from WT Woodson) from 7-9pm tomorrow (Tuesday)!

4. NEW: Winter Conditioning for returning rowers/coxswains starts this Thursday in Cafeteria B! Please note UPDATED TIMES FOR FIRST DAY: Girls 3:15-4:15pm, Boys 4:00-5:15pm. Don’t forget to bring a full water bottle, good shoes, and layered workout clothes.

5. REMINDER: Tag Day Sign-Ups are open! Tag Days begin on 18 November, THIS SATURDAY!
Sign-ups are nowhere close to meeting expectations. This is our major fund raiser for the year and right now we have 13 rowers of 32 in the morning and 7 of 32 in the afternoon. We can’t impress upon you enough that if you want to have sufficient coaches, entry fees for regattas, and be able to purchase new shells to stay competitive, we need you to participate. For the morning shift on 18 November, we have 8 drivers, but right now only the first three get credit because we don’t have enough rowers. Respect these family members who are volunteering their Saturday to drive and sign up for Tag Days –and don’t just show up on Saturday without signing up because then we may lack enough drivers. Returning rowers are reminded that they are required to do four (4) Tag Day shifts this year and new rowers are required to do three (3). If you missed supporting the Craft Show, you can make up ‘this miss’ by doing an additional Tag Day. If you don’t complete your Tag Day shifts, you will pay a financial penalty so please sign-up.

6. NEW: The Woodson Crew Spirit Wear site is now OPEN and will close at midnight on November 20th. Orders should be available for distribution before Christmas. This is optional spirit wear, none of the items from this site are required to be purchased. There are new items that have been added from previous years including a soft-shelled jacket with hood requested by student-athletes. The CCI screenprinting site takes VISA, Mastercard, and Discover. The uniform and splash jackets are made by JL Racing and will be available at a later date. There will also be rowing attire available from the JL site. We will send that link when it becomes available. If you have questions, please email Babette Korn at gwkorn@yahoo.com.

NOTE: The drop-down menu for the Under Armour sweatshirt has navy as the only offering, but actually, the only offering is carbon heather (gray).
