Thank you to all who participated in Tag Day this past Saturday. While the day started cold and icy and with limited donations from several areas, by the end we had a great day and received the largest single check in at least the last four years. Happiest of holidays to you and your families! We will not have a weekly email next week, but will start back up on Tuesday, January 2nd. 1. NEW: Crew Spirit Wear will be available starting today (Monday) from 3pm-10pm and every day after that from 12noon-10pm until Christmas Eve. Pick up is at the Korn’s house: 4036 Hadley Lane, Fairfax. Please also text Babette at 703-568-3985 prior to picking up your spirit wear so she can ensure it is ready for you. 2. REMINDER: There is Winter Conditioning this week for student-athletes that are available. Here is the schedule. If coaches have changes, they will notify the student-athletes. There is no winter conditioning next week, but we will start back up with the same schedule on January 2nd.
4. REMINDER: World Indoor Rowing Championships. An opportunity for our rowers (and their families) to participate in the World Indoor Rowing Championships! Usually held in Boston, this year TC Williams High School in Alexandria, VA is hosting it in place of the Mid–Atlantic Ergs on February 17th and 18th. Those that have participated in the Mid–Atlantic Ergs in the past know it is a tremendous, upbeat event that provides a great opportunity for our rowers. The World Indoor Rowing Championship this year promises to be even better. Go to Regatta Central Erg Sprints site to get all the details and register. NOTE: Be on the lookout for a letter from the President of the Crew Booster Association this coming week. If you would like to share student-athlete accomplishments/achievements, no matter what it is, please send them to wtwcrewcommunications@gmail.com. Send your submissions by Friday of each week. We will publish them in the following Monday issue of the WTW Crew Update. |
