  2. VSRC Day 2
  3. Senior Night Pre-Regatta Food Assignments & Dinner
  4. Volunteers Needed This Weekend
  5. Stotesbury & Volunteers Needed Next Weekend

1. CORRECTION: We inadvertently listed Ethan Feng in the Men’s Novice 8 (M-N-8) line-up for last weekend instead of Ethan Phan. It should have read Ethan Phan, our apologies.

2. REMINDER: Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championships (VSRC) Day 2.
The boats racing this Saturday will be the Women’s 1st 4, Men’s Junior 4, Men’s 1st and 2nd 8s, and the Women’s Lightweight 8. This is our last race at the Occoquan this season, we hope you can join us to Pull for Woodson!

We strongly encourage those teammates not racing this weekend to come out and support your teammates racing in “States” this weekend if you are able to attend.

Here is the link to the 1st Draft of the Heat Sheets.
We will post heat sheet updates on our website.
You can also watch for updates on Twitter at @VASRAResults and @WoodsonCrew.

3. REMINDER: Senior Night Pre-Regatta Dinner Food Assignments for all families. Our last pre-regatta dinner of the season and the Senior Night celebration is this Friday from 7-9pm. Details here (* requires authentication). Thank you to the Sandino family for hosting and to the parents who have signed up to help. Here are the dinner and RAFT food assignments (* requires authentication) for all families. Please bring the assigned food items to the pre-regatta dinner, even if your student-athlete is unable to attend the dinner. If an athlete’s last name falls between the names listed then that is their food assignment.

CLARIFICATION: The main dish assignments are for student-athletes with the last names between Tse-Zhang & Benjelloun-Hartman.

NEW: Captains, due to the expected heat on Saturday, we will have an extra cooler with rags for use to keep cool. We request Captains bring an extra bag of ice on Saturday.

Families of Seniors, unless you have a younger athlete on the team as well, there is NO food assignment for Seniors. Parents of Seniors are also invited to the team dinner.

Coxswains, please check your food assignments as there are food assignments for all coxswains (except Seniors).

It is a tradition to all student-athletes to wear their Senior Night t-shirts tomorrow, Friday, to school and to the team dinner.

Also please bring the assigned food even if your student-athlete is not competing this week. They are welcome to eat at the food tent as a spectator cheering on their teammates.

4. UPDATE: Volunteers Needed. We have one pre-regatta dinner parent volunteer slot to fill this Friday and three VASRA driver volunteer positions to fill this Saturday. Please sign-up on the Sign-up Genius links below if you are able to help. If you are available for this position or if all slots are filled when you check the VASRA Sign-Up Genius and you are able to assist or still need VASRA volunteer credit, please contact Jen Duffy at jenduf13@gmail.com to potentially fill other slots VASRA needs filled.

Here are the sign-up genius links for the pre-regatta dinner, RAFT, and VASRA.

Those signed up to volunteer for any of the above this weekend should receive reminders, but we recommend that you check the sign-up links above to ensure you know what volunteer opportunities you signed up for and that you are there on time. If anyone is unable to fulfill a volunteer requirement they previously signed up for on Sign-Up Genius, please contact wtwcrewcommunications@gmail.com before removing your name from the list so we can ensure the shift is covered.

NOTE: It is recommended VASRA volunteers arrive at Silverbrook at least 45 minutes prior to their shift start time so they can take the bus to Sandy Run, sign-in at the VASRA sign-in desk 30 minutes prior to shift, and be at their assigned volunteer duty by the start of their shift.

NEW IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please don’t forget to sign-in at the VASRA volunteer tent prior to your shift to ensure you get credit for your shift.
